A colorful misty sunrise appears on this May morning with maple
The hoary vervain or hoary verbena is a short lived perennial plant native to the prairies of the USA
I later seen it swimming the South Fork Kishwaukee River near Wildflower Lake
Eakin Creek West widens up some at this point of its flow as it picks up the reflections from the box elder trees along its banks and the colorful sunset above as it moves along through this prairie landscape at Wildflower Park
LISTENING TO THE WOODPECKERS NORTHERN CARDINAL (CARDINALIS CARDINALIS) A colorful misty sunrise appearsA male red bellied woodpecker pauses for a moment as I quickly take its photograph before it flies off through the forest along Eakin Creek West. While trying to get a photograph of the male, he and its mate were calling back to each other the entire time I was photographing them. It was interesting watching and listening to the pair communicating with each other as I made my way through the park. Wildflower Park. (557 105)
