Smaller than most, the four hinged arms that secure its ball form are elongated, fastening to the bottom segment. The ball when released, opens out into a cross comprising six square pyramids, each face displaying a different hand graved symbol of freemasonry. The carvings are exquisite, utilising the tones of both metals gold and silver to created a bimetal effect (again, somewhat unusual).
