I thought to myself how beautiful this is with the soft morning light brushing the landscape over these peachleaf willow trees

I had been photographing the wildflowers and sunrise for about forty five minutes now when this scene unfolded

The early morning sunlight was falling perfectly on this swamp milkweed plant illuminating the umbels with the right amount of soft light

I noticed a few tall purple flowers standing out from the other wildflowers and knew that those were the blazing stars

LAND OF BUTTES AND SPIRES HAWK I thought to myself howGeological formation of the badlands is an incredible site to see. Made up of buttes, pinnacles, spires and a wide expanse of mixed grasses. Many species inhabit this area including buffalo, pronghorn, mule deer, white tailed deer, prairie dog, hawks, eagles and many others.(594 563)
