Mom was nearby, feeding on lush spring grasses, while this little guy climbed higher on a blooming aspen tree to observe me and my lens. Black bear cubs grow quickly in their first year, relying primarily on mothers nourishment while they slowly learn to feed on grasses and other foods. Their ability to climb is critical to their safety from
