1957ء میں امریکی بار ایسو سی ایشن نے بھی انگلستان میں Runnymede کے مقام پر یادگار نصب کرکے اس حقیقت کا اعتراف کیا۔ میگنا کارٹا کی رُو کے تحت وجود پانے والے اس آئین نے بھی اپنی موجودہ شکل تک پہنچنے میں صدیوں کا سفر طے کیا ہے۔ ستمبر 1786ء میں Annapolis Convention منعقد ہوا جس میں صرف پانچ ریاستیں شریک تھیں۔ 1787ء میں Philadelphia Convention اِنعقاد پذیر ہوا۔ اور فلاڈلفیا میں ہی 17 ستمبر 1787ء کو دستور مکمل ہوا
