Just north of downtown Chicago, River North has undergone many transformations. Situated on the northern bend of the Chicago River, the area was once known as Smokey Hollow as it was densely populated with factories at the turn of the 20th century. It was the heart of industrializing Chicago, the vestiges of which are reflected in the former
