It has a general field used look, without being completely messed up. Just light wear. The paint does seem to be darkened on the outside of the buckle almost like it was oiled or polished right along with the belt it was on. If I had to guess, it does seem like the original owner polished his belt with dubbing and just left the buckle on there and went over it
