Mercury Dime Heart Necklace Matt It is a rigid constructionVintage 1940s Mercury dime heart necklace. The rather large heart pendant is metal and I think lucite (?) with the centerpiece being cut from an actual Mercury dime coin. I have read somewhere that these types of pendants were made by men who worked in machine shops for their sweethearts (not sure how true that is, but it is a fun story nonetheless). Overall, the necklace is in fairly good condition. There are some scuffs and some tarnishing.
