It's a rugged, sparsely populated part of our nation, punctuated with beautiful natural waterways. I caught this moment during an outing to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. I'm not usually one to paint flowers in my work, but the wildflowers really captivated me. I sort of felt like Dorothy among the poppies from the "Wizard of Oz."
