There were many soldiers with artistic leanings creating artwork at the front

I have worn sets in the past and found them to be very cool and surprisingly comfortable once you get used to the whole mesh thing

Pre war M31 Clothing Bag auction This seems to have beenNice original prewar M31 clothing bag made from gray cloth with brown leather trim in typical early form. Generally field gear of this color was produced very early before around 1936. This one lacks any maker mark or year, but it does have an ink stamp number on one leather component. This is a nice example, the leather is a little dry, but still good. I would not use this bag beyond displaying it; it's too nice and I do believe the leather would not
