I've been craving wide open vistas like this ever since I moved to Tennessee

almost every city subject that I paint is less about the actual "objects" in the composition and more about the placement of shapes and colors

This painting grew up from an initial study I created in late 2023

The whole purpose of day really is just to get to the nighttime

When Im fortunate enough to catch a gorgeous formation like this, the opportunity to paint it is sort of like being able to drive your car fast when no one is watching pure fun and exhilaration.
