We think this is raw silk similar to Tsumugi. In Japan also they sometimes spin and use the 'thread scraps' from previous fabrics, creating extra color, texture, and slubs. Both sides are the same and it has a cottony feel; mid lightweight and thin, matte not shiny, slubby and textured, soft, supple and
