I opt to use the less minty ones first, rounding the spools' lips, drilling my standard 0.8mm line-keeper hole in the rim, give them a gentle tidy with some wire wool - the skirt of the spools have tiny nicks and scratches that bore smoothing, and one of said has a patch of corrosion on the inside surface
