Now possibly the reason for this factory obsolescence is that the reel housing (handle side) uses two stainless steel pins to secure this bearing plate in place AND OVER TIME, IF USED NEAR SALTWATER, these pins can become corroded into the aluminum housing, making for a very good chance of breaking the housing when trying to get the old bearing out
